Maternity Support

Maternity Support with Local Maternity and Neonatal Services (LMNS)

At AFIUK, we are proud to collaborate with the Local Maternity and Neonatal Services (LMNS) to support vulnerable women through their maternity journey.

How We Support

Our Community Ambassadors are dedicated to supporting ethnic minority women, offering guidance and assistance during what can be a challenging time. For those navigating the complexities of a new environment while expecting a child, the experience can be overwhelming.

Through our parent, mother, and toddler groups, we strive to create a safe, welcoming space for expectant mothers. We walk alongside them on their journey, connecting them with healthcare professionals and partnering with organizations that provide additional resources and support.

What We Offer

1. Parent, Mother, Baby, and Toddler Groups

  • A warm and inclusive community where parents and children can build relationships and receive support.

2. A Safe Space and Resource Signposting

  • Assistance in connecting with essential services, including:
  • Baby banks.
  • Home Start programs.
  • Mental health services and more.

3. Help with Essential Needs

  • Providing vouchers for food and electricity to ease financial pressures.

4. Breastfeeding Support

  • As a designated Breastfeeding Centre, we offer advice and encouragement to mothers throughout their breastfeeding journey.

5. We also offer ante-natal classes, led by our Community Ambassadors, who have been expertly trained by Teri  Gavin-Jones and are now equipped to provide professional and compassionate guidance to expectant mothers.

6.We also offer cooking classes using air fryers, promoting cost-effective and healthy meal preparation for families.

At AFIUK, we believe in empowering mothers and families by fostering a supportive network and providing resources that make a real difference. Together, we can help every mother feel valued and supported as she navigates this important stage of life.
