AFIUK & RAMA: A Strong Partnership for Community Empowerment through the Pamoja Project

AFIUK and RAMA have joined forces to create the Pamoja Project, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering and building resilience among migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Recognizing the challenges faced by these communities, the collaboration focuses on providing essential support to enhance mental health, wellbeing, and social integration.

Through this partnership, AFIUK and RAMA offer a range of activities designed to uplift individuals and create a sense of belonging. These include:

  • Health checks to promote physical well-being
  • Outdoor trips to encourage social connections and relaxation
  • Exercise classes to improve physical and mental health
  • Budgeting and financial guidance to support economic stability
  • Cookery, art, and crafts sessions to foster creativity and cultural expression

By working together, AFIUK and RAMA are creating a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals can connect, build relationships, and develop new skills. This initiative is rooted in the spirit of togetherness, as reflected in the word “Pamoja,” which means “together” in Swahili.

With support from Public Health Accelerated Bid (PHAB), the Pamoja Project is making a significant impact in the community. The collaboration between AFIUK and RAMA ensures that migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers have access to vital resources and opportunities that enhance their overall well-being.
