2nd Cancer Research Research Symposium - Nairobi, Kenya
AFIUK is proud to partner with the Integrated Cancer Research Foundation at the 2nd Cancer Research Symposium, a pivotal gathering dedicated to addressing and reducing the cancer burden in the country. Kenya’s cancer burden poses a significant risk to our healthcare system. Yet, even as the government increases it’s spending in cancer care and management, there is limited investment in cancer research in the country, especially molecular cancer research. This symposium will illuminate the status and impact of cancer research in Kenya, fostering dialogue between clinicians, researchers, patients, industry players, cancer advocacy groups, and funding agencies.
This symposium brings together a vital cross-section of stakeholders, including policy experts, industry leaders, medical professionals, researchers, academics, and other interested parties, creating a unique platform for collective action. Our core aim is to foster dynamic, cross-sectoral dialogue and collaboration, ensuring that cutting-edge research findings are not only disseminated but also translated into actionable strategies that inform and influence policy development. Through this symposium, we seek to strengthen networking opportunities, promote essential knowledge exchange and capacity building, highlight and address disparities in cancer care, and ultimately mobilize the crucial resources and investment needed to make a tangible difference in the lives of Kenyans affected by cancer.
